About Dr Gayan
Dr Gayan Kathriachchige completed his Bachelor of Biomedicine and Doctor of Medicine at the University of Melbourne.
He trained as a junior doctor at Monash Health and pursued advanced training in Respiratory Medicine, followed by a fellowship of Sleep Medicine at the Alfred Hospital.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), and a member of the Thoracic Society of Australia (TSANZ) and the Australasian Sleep Association (ASA).
Dr Gayan provides assessment and management of all general respiratory and sleep conditions through his private consulting rooms in Noble Park, as well as public clinics at Monash Health (Cranbourne) and Alfred Health (Prahran). He also rounds on the General Medicine wards at Monash Health.
He is trained in bronchoscopy, interventional pleural procedures, reporting lung function and reporting sleep studies.
He is an avid researcher with multiple journal publications presented at national and international Respiratory and Sleep Medicine conferences. He regularly attends workshops for continuing professional development. In addition, he is passionate about teaching and mentoring junior doctors, as well as presenting information sessions to local GPs.
Outside of medicine, Gayan enjoys cricket, travelling, photography and spending time with his wife and children.
